Senior Project Manager required for my client, a leading developer of technologies that convert waste into low carbon fuels.

Their technology naturally captures carbon dioxide to generate the negative carbon emissions that are required to meet net zero commitments.

As Senior Project Manager you will take a direct role in the day to day coordination of major projects.

You will take direction from the Engineering Director, contributing directly to the project delivery while managing budgets, schedules & risk registers,and overseeing resource allocation and deliverables.

You will ideally be commutable to Wiltshire but hybrid/remote working arrangements are available.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Development and routine management of a programme and resource schedule to deliver the FEED study, interfacing with the main contractors, leading into detailed design, procurement and construction.
  • Support contract development and negotiation with vendors and regulators, with a proven ability to develop and execute contracts.
  • Identify, prioritise, and manage key risks and drive their mitigation measures.
  • Produce regular reports and updates on project progress, spend, resourcing and risks.
  • Coordinate, chair and clearly document regular review meetings with key project stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, land owners, councils and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and provide critical review of both contractual and technical documentation, including scope documents for vendor bids, such as legal support and O&M contractors.
  • Contribute to design review activities, including HAZOP, DSEAR and SIL assessments.
  • Drive a culture of project excellence throughout the organisation, with specific focus on 'on time, in full' delivery, risk mitigation and with the highest focus on Health and Safety.
  • Ensure open and transparent communication throughout the project team.
  • Support the ongoing development of project procedures and controls.
  • Accountable for procedural compliance, ensuring complete project records and documentation are made and kept.

Skills and Qualifications of the Senior Project Manager:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in an Engineering or related field, ideally chemical or process engineering.
  • Proven and significant work experience as an Engineering Project Manager in a related field.
  • Detailed knowledge of process engineering through full project lifecycle (including EPC & commissioning), ideally with a good working knowledge of C&I deployment in projects.
  • Experience in Process Engineering or related sectors (speciality/fine chemicals, dairy/beverage, oil & gas).
  • Detailed understanding of engineered systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in all aspects of safe delivery of technically challenging projects.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and executing contracts.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Proven ability to work and direct work safely, ensuring the safety of others and complying with all safety assessment requirements.
  • Proven ability to plan, organise, monitor and report the work activities of others.
  • Work flexibly in terms of working patterns and location.
  • Work innovatively to provide solutions to challenges.
  • Proven technical expertise and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong team building, decisionmaking and people management skills.
