Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our team at botanic lodge nursery.
As a
SENCO, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to ensure they receive the necessary support and accommodations to thrive academically and socially.

'''Responsibilities'''- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive learning environment for students with SEND
- Conduct assessments to identify students' specific needs and develop appropriate interventions
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective strategies for students with SEND
- Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to intervention plans as needed
- Coordinate with external agencies and specialists to provide additional support services for students
- Support the development of inclusive practices within the school community
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff on topics related to special educational needs
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting
- Knowledge of different learning difficulties and disabilities, as well as strategies for supporting students with SEND
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in mentoring or providing guidance to other educators is desirable
