Bonny Downs Community Association (BDCA)
JOB TITLE:
Fundraising Officer
CONTRACT:
Temporary fixed term contract (ideally starting in September 2023) until end of current financial year , with possibility of extension if funding allows.
HOURS: 14 hours per week.
WORKING TIMES:
Flexible (during normal office hours Monday-Friday).
PAY RATE:
£ £13.773 per hour depending on experience (£22,370 - £25,783 pro rata)
LOCATION:
Main Office in The Well Community Centre (E6 6DQ).
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grant fundraising:
- Researching available funding opportunities and assessing the probability of our charity being successful in applying.
- Working with the Co-Director responsible for fundraising to create quarterly fundraising action plans.
- Liaising with relevant project staff to plan the content and outcomes targets for upcoming bids.
Local Giving:
- In consultation with project teams, you will take the lead on planning, creating and monitoring social media based crowdfunding campaigns throughout the year.
- Promoting new local donors to join our 'BDCA Buddies' monthly giving scheme, by producing high quality enewsletters, promotional videos, printed flyers and social media posts etc.
- Producing accurate donation summary spreadsheets and communicating these income levels to all relevant colleagues each month.
Corporate donations:
- Liaising with corporate partners and BDCA's own project staff to arrange meaningful, enjoyable and wellorganised volunteering opportunities across our various projects.
- Contacting local businesses and managing the longterm relationship development with key contacts in order to raise awareness of our charity's current crowdfunding campaigns, volunteering opportunities and equipment donation needs etc.
Fundraising events:
- Supporting local individuals who kindly offer to raise money for BDCA through sponsored events (sharing their posts on BDCA's social media, arranging branded tshirts etc).
- Organising occasional small scale fundraising events for our project attendees to get involved with.
Other duties:
- to help develop and support income generation ideas
- Taking high quality photos across BDCA's services which can be used to attract new funders and donors.
- Attending and actively contributing to BDCA's monthly staff meetings.
- Attending monthly 121 support and supervision meetings with your line manager.
- Working with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that our fundraising activities fully comply with BDCA's policies and procedures, including: safeguarding; data protection; privacy; and equality, diversity and inclusion.

£11.95-£13.77 per hour
