About the Role

Base Location:
Perth, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Reading or Havant


Salary:
£74,600 - £112,000 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Head of IT Delivery will spearhead the Agile transformation, enhancing our digital capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Your leadership will ensure successful delivery across various programs, focusing on both innovation and compliance.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the agile transformation in Energy Markets towards a DevSecOp operating model
  • Drive an ambitious delivery programme through formation and continual improvement of agile value streams and new ways of working to deliver innovation at pace
  • Directly manage the daytoday operations of a large and diverse Delivery team, focusing on optimal performance and professional development.
  • Build robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication on delivery methodologies.
  • Uphold and advance IT and business strategies, ensuring our technological advancements support SSE's longterm goals.

What do I need?
For this pivotal role, we're looking for professionals who can bring the following skills and expertise:

  • Experience of organisational transformation, delivering agile DevOps ways of working
  • Strong experience of working within a DevOps organisation, demonstrating delivery and value capture
  • Expertise in managing budgets, with a strong grasp of costbenefit analysis in agile organisations
  • A strong commitment to legal compliance in all aspects of IT management, preserving the integrity and reputation of SSE.
  • Proficient in implementing robust risk management strategies, safeguarding against potential threats.

Energy markets is the heart of the SSE Group, securing value for SSE's asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets as we move towards our vision of being a leading energy company in a net zero world.

We play a critical role as the short-term energy market asset optimiser, and a long-term energy market adviser, for all SSE's Business Units (across SSE's Wind, Hydro, Low Carbon Thermal, Distributed Energy and Customer portfolios).

This role for EPM enables SSE to focus its investment in energy markets capabilities (including Trading, Risk Management, Energy Economics, Settlements and Advanced Analytics) in one centre of excellence, with these enhanced capabilities supporting value creation and decision making across the SSE Group.
