Description

Newly Qualified and Preceptee Midwives
The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Job Summary

Permanent - Full time

The Duchess of Kent Maternity Unit for Women and Babies is excited to announce availability on our highly developed Preceptorship Programme.

Throughout your individually designed programme, you will be supported by our dedicated Practice Development Team (PDT) to develop your skills, knowledge and autonomy as you transition from a student midwife to a fully registered practitioner.

You will also receive pastoral support through our Professional Midwifery Advocates (PMA) who hold Restorative Clinical Supervision (RCS) sessions.

We offer a minimum of a twelve month Preceptorship Programme in line with Capital Midwife standards. You will be given the opportunity to rotate across three areas within Maternity with allocated supernumerary time. You will also receive protected time to attend bespoke training days relevant to your clinical area.

Once you have completed your Preceptorship, you will be able to further your continuing practice development as a midwife at Hillingdon Hospital through our available courses.

We offer a strong commitment to professional development through appraisal, personal development plans and postgraduate study. A Practice Development team provides staff with a comprehensive package of training and clinical support and all our midwives are released from clinical work to attend an annual comprehensive mandatory training programme
