Duties and Responsibilities:


The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration may include any or all of the items in the following list.

Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Admin Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:


  • Review all incoming correspondence and enter, using read codes, pertinent information into the patients' electronic medical record following the coding protocol. This will include data highlighted by clinicians as well as data required to meet contractual obligations.
  • Organise the medical record of patients whom you are coding, to harmonise problem titles, group symptom development and assign the appropriate status to medical information.
  • Attend admin meetings including Safeguarding Meeting when required.
  • Work as part of the team to achieve the QOF target and increase QOF prevalence.
  • Assist with inviting and booking patients in for reviews
  • Use of different clinical systems i.e. (Open Exeter, DESP, AccuRx, etc.)
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
  • To help people to manage their needs through answering queries, making, and managing appointments.
  • Uses healthcare technology to optimise service delivery, patients' access, and continuity of care.
  • Assist with investigations relating to the quality of the service and implement improvement actions approved by the line manager.
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
  • To consistently and effectively manage administrative aspects of the system.
  • Be part of up keeping, evaluating and continued development of the service.
  • To work with the clinical and nonclinical team involved in the service.
  • To work as part of the team to identify and manage a caseload of patients.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Admin Team Manager.
  • Recognise own knowledge limits and seek advice from clinical or administrative colleagues as appropriate.
  • Ensure a commitment to your development.
  • Deal with patients' enquiries by telephone and inperson

Job Types:

Salary:
£10.50-£11.00 per hour
