An exciting opportunity has arisen for clinical staff to support the delivery of various programmes of education within the Clinical Education department.

The role would suit a highly motivated and adaptable individual who is passionate about the support and development of our workforce, whilst retaining an element of clinical practice.


This as in ideal post for somebody looking to develop their career in education and who would like to gain experience and qualifications to support this.

Clinical Education is entering an exciting phase of development in an ever changing and evolving environment.

This role has the ability to shape the future careers of staff joining the Trust as well as promoting the highest standard of education delivery.

This is an important role in the delivery of the clinical education strategy.


These posts will be primarily focused on the delivery of education to staff and the assessment of work submitted to support their development, in particular the Transition to Practice programme and Combined Clinical Conversion Courses.

They will also support international paramedics relocating to the UK, and assess work submitted to the Preceptorship Portfolio by Newly Qualified Paramedics.

All applicants must be a registered HCPC Paramedic and have no less than two years post registration operational experience.

Training qualifications and experience of working within an education environment are desirable but not essential as training and development will be offered to successful applicants.

During the first six months of employment facilitators can be supported to complete the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) if this (or equivalent) qualification is not already held.

This course will be fully funded by the Trust and you will be supported by the Clinical Education team in completing it.

Key functions of this role include:

  • Delivery of clinical training in both theoretical and practical domains across a range of courses offered by Clinical Education, including: Transition to Practice for Newly Qualified Paramedics; and Combined Clinical Conversion for experienced staff joining the Trust.
  • Contribute towards the development of educational resources and plans.
  • Undertake specific projects to promote high quality education as required.


The post holder will perform a key role in the clinical and professional development of staff whilst promoting best clinical practice across the range of ambulance duties.


The successful applicant will be expected to use highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to develop, support and motivate individuals and groups within the learning environment.

An ability to develop and maintain excellent inter-professional partnership working with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally will be required in this role.
