371⁄2 hours per week (Monday to Friday) 8.00am to 16.00pm


We have an excellent opportunity for a Carpenter (Multi-Skilled) to join our maintenance team, to carry out general building maintenance works to a wide range of building types.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Undertake all general maintenance building work in order to maintain all premises owned by Saffron or those they have an interest in.
  • Carryout all work of a maintenance nature as required; this may include but is not limited to:
  • Carpentry
  • UPVC Door and Window repairs
  • Tiling
  • Minor Plumbing / Heating
  • Undertake building work in association with improvements, minor works and small new build contracts.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of Saffron's tenants and properties by participating on the out of hours call out rota, as required.

  • Relevant experience and knowledge in all types of maintenance work.
  • Experience of working in both occupied and unoccupied properties and on occasions in extreme temperatures and conditions due to seasonal weather conditions.
  • A recognised trade apprenticeship, NVQ level 2 or the equivalent level of skills and experience is required.
  • Able to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need for close supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences.
  • Ability to participate on the out of hours call out rota.
  • On Call Standby £130 per week
  • Call Out Rate paid at time and a half (double time for Bank Holidays)
  • Full, current, valid driving licence.
