We are seeking an E- Learning / Digital Learning content developer, Learning management system (LMS) administrator (College Learn-Provided by the College of Policing) and immersive learning operator to support training delivery.
This role will include a requirement to perform an LMS administrator role in relation to College Learn as well as course design, development, preparation, technical support and liaison with College of Policing for all immersive HYDRA products.
Key Responsibilities
Administration of learning management systems - namely COP MLE and Blackboard - the post holder is one of 2 staff members who administer both of these systems supporting all 12000 learners in the organisation to access learning via these systems and also reporting on completion rates at force level - where mandated completion is required.
COP curriculum and licence compliance for some courses relies on the use of Hydra immersive learning (for example PO commander courses).
This role is one of two staff members that are required to manage the control room and run this course and all technical aspects.
Creating the e-Learning packages by using authoring tools. This is critical to my development part of the This Work Matters strategy in supporting blended and self-directed learning design so that as an organisation we can provide officers and staff with the right skills and the right time to perform effective in their roles, whilst minimising abstractions away from the front lineKnowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Experienced in designing elearning and skilled and knowledgeable in elearning authoring tools
- Experience of managing Learning Management Systems
- Experience of managing technical learning helpdesks
- Experience in using technologybased learning building digital assets
- Understanding of blended learning approaches
Desirable:
- Trained in Articulate Storyline and 360 and other elearning design tools
- Be the holder of a recognised Training Qualification. e.g. Certificate of Education, Level 3 Award in Education & Training.
- Working knowledge of Blackboard LMS.
- Previous experience as Hydra immersive learning technician
- Good knowledge of current diversity and inclusion practice including legislation, supporting accessible learning design
Skills-Essential:
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire confidence in staff.
- Ability to prioritise work load and work to tight deadlines
- Ability to develop effective working relationships
- Strong team working skills, with the ability to provide support and flexibility.
Vetting
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.

Tally Ho Conference and Banqueting Centre, Pershore Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B5 7RN.
Hours of Work and Flexibility
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 however part of the flexible working scheme
