  • Central Bradford location with opportunity for hybrid flexible working

The position holder's main role and responsibilities are:

  • Assign daily tasks to the Claims Team and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the delivery on an effective, compliant and fair claims service that meets customer and stakeholder needs and adheres to agreed service standards.
  • Use management information to analyse incoming claim volumes and deploy resource effectively to meet agreed service levels.
  • Ensure adherence to the Company's claims handling, settlement, loss reserving and Consumer Duty regulation philosophies.
  • Provide guidance to team members; develop people to display the attitude, motivation, skills and capabilities to deliver consistently strong technical output.
  • Lead a dedicated Claims Team responsible for the efficient onboarding and processing of household claims received by the Company.
  • Adherence to service standards to ensure customer satisfaction, reflecting best market practice and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide a technical referral/escalation point to all members of staff within the department and elsewhere in the Company as necessary.
  • To ensure that the claims handling methodology, systems and standards are adhered to, reflect Company policy and encourage the fair treatment of customers.
  • Identification of training and development needs for relevant members of staff. Ensure that staff have sufficient training and competence to perform their role.
  • Personal integrity with the ability to ensure confidentiality of information, as governed by the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Promote and support the delivery of good customer outcomes at all times.
  • Promote and demonstrate the Company Values and Culture.

Core competencies

Essential:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of household property claims.
  • Excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build business relationships with all stakeholders involved in claims operations.
  • Willingness to make decisions within own remit and be accountable.
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to manage and progress several priorities at the same time.
  • Ability to support the delivery of effective mentoring and coaching to team members.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working as a team leader in an insurance environment.
  • Hold a Chartered Institute of Insurance qualification (CII).

£35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
