As of 01 April 2023, local government in Cumbria will change as we move towards Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).

The current six district councils and Cumbria County Council will be replaced by two new unitary authorities -
Westmorland and Furness Council and
Cumberland Council.

Some details about the role


The role focuses on delivering high quality and continuously improving services, taking responsibility for resolving issues as efficiently and effectively as possible on a wide range of the more technical, statutory and non-statutory services.

You will undertake some complex case management that will require a more detailed understanding of relevant service processes and compliance, regulations and legislation in both areas.


You will be required to develop and maintain accurate and up to date records, and be fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and Excel, and take responsibility for all aspects of administrative support for the service, as well as new initiatives, activities and projects.


There may at times be a requirement of the post holder to work across various other Case Management functions in the People and Environment service area.


What we are looking for in you

In addition you will have:


  • Good standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of the relevant legislation and regulations applied to area of service delivery
  • Some experience of working in a customer focused, service delivery role and good admin skills
  • Proven ability to be accurate, detailed and professional in approach to work
  • Proven ability to deliver high standards and good customer service
  • Strong ICT skills and proven ability to learn new systems quickly
