The services and packages are tailored for looked after young people aged 16+ who have lived in various settings or placements and are ready to transition to independent living or those who come into care after they turn 16 years.

Job Summary


Working with the Area Manager, the post holder will have responsibility for and performance of the management of the Semi-independent services across South West England and is responsible for the operational delivery, performance and governance of these services.


The post holder will lead their service teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality young person-centred services, strategic planning, service development and change programmes, driving innovation, modernisation and high levels of staff and young people satisfaction working in partnership with the Area Manager.


Alongside the Area Manager, responsible for providing a key leadership role in delivering financial, quality, performance, productivity and workforce targets, local and national, as agreed through the business planning, appraisal and personal development processes.


Deputising for the Area Manager, responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure delivery of financial management and the deployment of resources in line with the organisation's financial plan and by the financial governance requirements.

This will include delivering organisational growth levels and managing related pay and non-pay expenditure within agreed budgets, achieving required levels of cost improvement and underpinning service line profitability.


Together with the Area Manager, lead the development and delivery of business plans to ensure continuous service improvement, quality and financial efficiency.


Responsible for direct line management of the Support Workers working within the Semi-independent service in South West England and for establishing and maintaining effective structures and systems of control for staff management, including recruitment, appraisal, development and support of the Organisation's HR policies and procedures.


Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective governance and safeguarding systems, working in close conjunction with the Area Manager to enable the delivery of high-quality outcomes and young people's experience.


Work with engage with internal and external stakeholders and build collaborative relationships to improve communication and ensure delivery of the business plan and strategic objectives.
