Are you passionate about energy industry and looking to work in a growing team in a dynamic organisation?

We are looking for Lead Casting Operative to join our Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing Facility in Hull.


As a Lead Casting Operative, you will be responsible for the set-up and execution of the critical casting process in accordance with defined training material and valid work instructions.

Mechanic Technology (MT) Operator operates casting machines or tools to manufacture semi-products according to agreed engineering specifications, quality requirements and manufacturing time.


Throughout this role you will be considered as the technical go to person on shift with regards to the casting process.

You will be expected to provide clear directions and communication to the casting team and follow correct and pre-defined troubleshooting and escalation processes.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Infusing the glass fibre in the moulds with an epoxy resin mix.
  • Setting up and operating a specified machine environment (Casting machines).
  • Organizing and using machine related tools, and equipment relevant in production.
  • Processing the components or semi-products/products according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Performing basic or specifically defined maintenance operations and escalates and troubleshoots if required.
  • Cooperating with maintenance technicians and/or external service providers in repair issues.
  • Operating casting machines or tools to manufacture semi-products according to agreed engineering specifications, quality requirements and manufacturing time.
  • Providing daily written technical updates on the casting process.
  • Organizing and uses machine related tools, and equipment relevant in production
  • Preforming tests and first off checks before the infusion process begins
  • Maintaining full concentration to continuously control and monitor the casting process
What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for- Experience as a certified Caster is essential- Demonstrable organizational skills- Exceptional levels of attention to detail with high levels of concentration- Someone to be able to work independently and as a part of a team- Good verbal and written communication skills- Flexible to work in a shift pattern that includes nights
