Permanent

£35,500 - £40,500 per annum

Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am to 1.00pm

25 days annual leave plus 8 days Bank Holiday, Company Sick Pay after 1 years' service

**Product Metallurgist

Job Description**:

  • Interpretation of customer requirements and specifications for inclusion with product processing route and release criteria
  • Responsible for metallurgical development for forged products
  • Generation of metallurgical process instructions for Forging (Primary) & Heat Treatment (Secondary) to obtain a metallurgical compliant product
  • Creation and approval of process data cards forging & heat treatment processes
  • Design & approval of manufacturing routes to obtain compliant metallurgical products
  • Point of contact and knowledge leader for metallurgical and product testing (mechanical& metallurgical) release within the business
  • Responsible for creation of documents, manuals, and reports in support of customer liaison and internal processing
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing quality standard
  • Maintain knowledge of metallurgical developments within industry and academia
  • Manage the Technical requirement for specific productbased projects as and when required
  • Shared responsibility for Technical Contract Review / Order Acceptance

Product Metallurgist

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:


  • Degree/ Masters / PhD qualified in Metallurgy or Materials Science and Engineering.
  • Experienced with forging, thermomechanical processing, heat treatment, and release testing
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated manufacturing industry
  • Exposure of working with Nickel, Steels, Stainless Steels, Titanium and Aluminum alloy systems

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications:


  • Experience of New Product Introduction and Product Management
  • Experience of Non Destructive Testing
