Description
Required for immediate start in a permanent role - Health & Safety Officer working in the coldroom construction industry. HBCL work nationally for a large number of clients.The organisation has an excellent track record across health and safety and this role is critical to its continued success.
The Role:
- Provide effective and positive H&S and environmental support.
- Maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures that adhere to government legislation and by understanding the company's policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the projects team by completing RAMS and PPQ's.
- Oversee the companies training programme, delivering toolbox task, liaising with third party providers, logging and completing the necessary paper work for CITB claims. Provide advice and training to the operational workforce in Health and Safety regulations when appropriate
- Ensure that occupational health surveillance and wellbeing programmes are followed
- Ensure that all accidents or near miss incidents are properly recorded, investigated and appropriate action is taken including reporting and improvement measures.
- Undertake site, office and workshop audits, ensure that responsibilities are clear and answer any questions raised
- Implement / update safety plans i.e. fire management procedures
- Ensure that all Scheduled inspections are maintained for our sites and equipment
- Promote and encourage Health & Safety and environmental awareness among the employees of the business
- Develop and maintain the management systems where appropriate while ensuring the company is in full compliance with its legislative obligations.
- Construction related background would be ideal
- A strong communicator to all levels within the business with high attention to detail
- MUST hold NEBOSH certificate, (construction preferable)
- Selfefficient who can manage/prioritise workload / a selfstarter who can lead by example and hit the ground running.
- Managing safely
- UK Driver's license (as will be travelling to St Helens and sites)
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24 per week
Salary:
£28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
