Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board are recruiting a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist serving the South Bridgend area.


It is a ten session job consisting of two sessions for Bridgend Local Primary Mental Health Support Services and eight sessions for CMHT and Outpatient clinics.

This is an established Consultant Psychiatrist post working within the Bridgend South CMHT, covering a population of 55,000 between 18 and 65 years (approximately), with 240 patients currently being care coordinated by the CMHT.

The CMHT is positioned in Secondary Care and has a pivotal role in directly delivering specialist community mental health services, but also an interface with Primary care, Unscheduled Care and Specialist and Regional Services such as Perinatal Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Early Intervention for Psychosis and Rehabilitation Services.

The purpose of the role is to provide a clinical service for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.

The role will include the provision of clinical expertise and leadership to the multidisciplinary teams, and supervision for the Speciality Doctor and core trainee.

The post holder will find themselves well supported, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and collaborative working.

They will be managed by the Clinical Director, but also benefit from day-to-day support from other members of the management team.
