Overview:


Energy Resourcing are recruiting for a Principal Civil Designer with our EPC client based in Brentford, London, on a 12 month contract position to work on a carbon capture project.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain the required technical quality of work
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
  • Execute design and draughting activities to produce deliverables associated with the allocated workscope, including E3D activities to facilitate the production, while requiring minimum input from engineering personnel
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
  • Ensure as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
  • Provide input to estimates and schedules and assist in their review
  • Maintain good communication with the client and visit sites when necessary
  • Maintain filing systems
  • Provide technical assistance to all personnel as required, across discipline to facilitate delivery
  • Ensure engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, etc
  • Prepare workscope packages for distribution to other locations.
  • Facilitate discussions with Senior Designers and Designers relating to design and preparation of drawing issues, providing technical guidance, support and training when required. Ensuring that all discipline personnel are working in alignment and following best practices
  • Signing and checking of drawings and documents in accordance with correct procedures
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project
  • Commitment to and promotion of the client's values and ensuring the realisation of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies and procedure

Qualifications:

  • E3D or PDMS Experience
  • Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to draughting function
  • Experienced principal designer with sound technical background and in depth knowledge of CAD draughting techniques
  • Conversant with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to draughting function
  • Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting for draughting function
  • Able to estimate manhours and materials for delegated aspects of work
