We are looking to recruit a Service Delivery Administrator (Systems Administration) to work in our IS team


The role will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the administrative user support for Force IT Systems.
  • Providing second line support and expert advice in systems use, fault investigation and resolution.
  • Providing advice to other IT teams in relation to the Force Systems.
  • Assisting in the implementation, maintenance and ongoing development of systems and associated hardware.
  • Liaising with and supervise third party suppliers.

Day to day responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring the best possible support is provided to force systems across South Yorkshire and Humberside Police and the delivery of the performance standards are followed.
  • Providing support to the Team Leader and Senior Analyst in order to achieve team, departmental and force objectives.
  • Contributing to the decision making process of the team and supporting the Senior Analyst and Team Leader.
  • Following all ITIL incidents, problem and change management procedures within the team, highlighting potential ways to improve service delivery.
  • Assisting in the development, installation and integration of system changes or upgrades, liaising with third party suppliers, technical teams and system users during these changes.
  • Mentoring and supporting other Service Delivery Administrators within the team with any new or complex workloads as and when required.
  • Maintaining system administration and procedural documentation in line with agreed best practice.
  • Working closely with all teams across IT to ensure an excellent service is given.
  • A requirement to work outside normal hours and travel around and outside the force area.

Qualification, skills and experience:


  • Hold a degree and/or significant experience of working with Information Technology.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of the Systems and Applications supported by System Administration Team.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure, consistent in approach to daily tasks and committed to customer service.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fastchanging environment.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
