Description
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.

It's not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it's what's behind every job here.

An opportunity has arisen for an Electric Vehicle (EV) Technical Specialist within Scottish Water's Fleet department, the Customer Vehicles Team.

What you'll do

You'll work with operational teams to understand their existing and future infrastructure requirements.

Identifying the charging technology required to support their transition by fully understanding operational requirements, duty cycles, including shift patterns, dwell time and standby.

You'll need to take a blended approach with workplace and depot charging infrastructure, developing site specific plans for our charging infrastructure.

Once the specification is agreed you'll manage the installation of infrastructure through our supply chain ensuring that works meet time, cost, and quality targets with a real focus on safety.

Once the infrastructure has been installed, you'll also be responsible for our back-office systems and infrastructure maintenance provision, monitoring performance issues and delivering an excellent service for SW staff.

What you'll bring

The role will require high levels of EV technical expertise to ensure that Scottish Water's EVs and charging infrastructure meet our operational requirements and deliver best economic value.

The role holder must be aware of relevant transport legislation and emerging zero-emission fleet technology, including home and workplace charging infrastructure.

You'll will have established relationships within the EV industry and knowledge and experience of EV and charging infrastructure technology. You'll bring strong communication skills and confidence working on your own.

There will be a requirement to travel to meet suppliers and operational teams, therefore you'll need a UK driving licence and transport is essential.

The not-so-small print

The salary range for this role is £45, £58,418.00 GBP Annual (depending on skills and experience).

Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. These checks are conducted on our behalf by a third party. Don't worry - we'll ask your permission before starting these checks.
