We are recruiting for a Consultant in Clinical Oncology (Urology) who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.


At Mount Vernon, the post holder will be expected to work with members of the Urology teams delivering radiotherapy, SACT and outpatient clinics.


At Luton Hospital, the post holder will work closely with the Urology multidisciplinary teams to provide a safe and high-quality outpatient oncology service with SACT delivery.

This is a substantive post and comprises 11.0 programmed activities (PAs) and an on-call commitment.


Mount Vernon is a well-respected cancer centre, providing care to over 5,000 new patients a year, based in Northwood, Middlesex.

It is run by East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (ENHT) and is in the process of merging with University College London Hospital (UCH), a leading tertiary cancer services provider.

Mount Vernon will continue to provide high-quality care for cancer patients during the transition period, which is expected to complete by April 2024.


Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is the largest single site cancer centre in the south of England, with 25 clinical oncologists, 15 medical oncologists, 4 cancer radiologists and 1 palliative care physician, serving 9 surrounding hospitals.

There are 22 in-patient beds which provide specialist oncology care to patients requiring in-patient support.

We have an ambulatory care unit open 8 to 8, which provides support for acute oncology patients and day case supportive treatment.

Specialist medical and surgical care is provided by SLAs with Hillingdon Hospital as the estate landlord, and surrounding DGH's as required.

This post is available to provide site specific services to the local population and surrounding areas. Out-patient duties and SACT will be delivered at Mount Vernon and Luton Hospital. Brachytherapy and radiotherapy services will be delivered solely at Mount Vernon. The post holder will specialize in the management of urological malignancies, joining established dynamic teams of surgeons and oncologists.

The clinical oncology post holder would join this active team with an opportunity to further develop their own skills.

The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre has state of the art radiotherapy facilities including IGRT, VMAT, IMRT, and the ability to give SABR with both linac-based and the Cyberknife system.
