An exciting opportunity has become available to join the committed Café and Social Enterprise Team as a

CAFE ASSISTANT

32 hours per week/ 52 weeks per year

Salary £17,753.68 per annum ( Pro Rata FTE £22,192.10)

Based at the Hive Café and Bakery, Vittoria Street, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, committed and motivated who will carry out the following duties:

Basic preparation of food
Preparation and serving of hot drinks using a coffee machine
Cleaning of the café and food areas, including the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment;
The serving of meals ensuring presentation is to the required standard
To ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times;
Handling money

The ground floor of New Standard Works in the Jewellery Quarter has been renovated to create a training café and bakery that provides valuable work experience and training opportunities to students at Ruskin Mill Trust's Argent College.

We offer delicious meals, coffee, cakes and bread to the growing residential and business community within the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.

We use organic or biodynamic ingredients, every dish is fresh and homemade and we serve healthy unique and delicious food

Ideally you will have experience of working in a café or other social enterprise function and able to manage and prioritise a varied workload.

A Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous, however, full training is provided.
