    Job Title: Youth Worker

    Location: Sherborne, Southwest

    Hours: 4 hours once per fortnight

    Salary: £15.97 per hour

    The Organisation: Ups and Downs Southwest is a reputable Down Syndrome Support charity serving children, families, and professionals across the Southwest. We deliver direct family support work and offer comprehensive training packages to professionals from various sectors.

    The Position:

    As the Sherborne Youth Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation, management, and delivery of our once-per-fortnight youth club sessions for young people (age ten plus) with Down Syndrome. This role is funded by Children in Need, and part of the conditions include sourcing and collaborating with external providers to offer engaging, interesting, and educational activities for our young people. You will also need to utilise and manage a small bank of volunteers who support the youth club provision.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Organise and manage youth club sessions for young people with Down Syndrome
    2. Collaborate with external providers to offer stimulating activities
    3. Utilise and manage a small bank of volunteers

    Requirements:

    • Experience working with children and young people with Down Syndrome
    • Ability to collaborate with external providers
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
