Description

The post holder will be for supporting the co-ordination of Covid 19 vaccinations and Flu vaccinations across Gateshead's housebound population, supporting with the day-to-day Locality administration duties and covering SPOC across all localities.

They will provide vital administrative support to the vaccine coordinator and Locality Teams, being a key contact within Community Services working closely with all partners including patients, other health care providers and GP Practices.

The post holder will work with the wider multidisciplinary team; they will liaise with vaccinators and locality staff to ensure that the day-to-day co-ordination and administrative support is delivered in a timely and professional manner.


The post holder will play a key role in co-ordination and planning and will be required to provide a comprehensive administrative service across a range of activities which may include handling patient and their families telephone calls and using IT systems to schedule community visits.

The post holder will work with mínimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to use initiative, prioritising their own workload, have attention to detail and communicating in an effective manner.

Support the Vaccination Co-ordinator and Locality Team with the day-to-day running of the teams and in the co-ordination and development of any new ways if working that will ultimately improve patient care.

Support the engagement and involvement of clinical staff in making operational decisions and supporting staff to deliver safe and effective care to their designated patient group.


The post holder will accept referrals, check patient details and schedule clinical visits and vaccination visits using Emis community web, they will also contact patients via telephone to advise date of vaccination.

The post holder may be required to collect vaccines from other sites


This post will be based with the Vaccination Co-ordinator with an expectation that the post holder may be asked to cover across all locality bases.

This post is to cover an 8am until 8.00pm 7-day service where weekend and evening work may be required.
