**Function
Mechanical Workshop Inspector


Purpose of the Role


To competently follow predefined inspection processes to deliver products through advanced and specialised experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage time & workload effectively
  • Advise other team members on 'best practice'
  • Managing NCR's & Liaising with subcontractors
  • Manage stock, material consumed and processes on internal business systems
  • Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
  • Leads and delivers in inspection activities following instructions and processes to ensure parts are delivered effectively, efficiently, ontime, to specification and in a costeffective manner
  • Completes own work unsupervised and facilitates the work and activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area.
  • Booking stock in
  • Preparing working for subcon shipment etc.
  • Inspection of work received from goods in

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Clear understanding of GD&T
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T
  • Interpret engineering drawings
  • PC Literate with good working knowledge of MS Office Products
  • Knowledge of SAGE advantageous
  • Knowledge of PC-DMIS advantageous
  • Being able to operate and program a CMM (desirable)


  • Knowledge of ISO1400

  • Experience of Anodising & Electroplating
  • Confident and capable using a wide range of metrology bench equipment such as:
  • Micrometers
  • Vernier callipers
  • Contour trace
  • Bore mic & thread mic
  • Height gauges
  • Slips/pins
  • DTI clocks
  • Shadow graphs
  • Thread gauges
  • Strong manual inspection background
  • Strong understanding of

ISO:
900- Excellent attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.

  • Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through jobrelated training and considerable onthejob expertise
