Description
The appointment is for a Respiratory Consultant, to provide a consultant presence and clinical support to the Integrated Respiratory Team based at Mayflower Community Hospital supporting a variety of respiratory patients across Thurrock, Basildon and Brentwood dependent on referral, this is and adults service for those over 18.
This post is particularly suited for an established Respiratory Physician already working in the region who might want to undertake the role in addition to his/her existing duties in a nearby secondary care setting.
The Integrated Respiratory Team have several aspects of service provision which support the NHS Long Term Plan where consultant support would be of value including:
- Respiratory Virtual Wards
- involving a early supported discharge and admission avoidance pathways
- Community Home Oxygen Service, that also links in with Hospital at home to support COVID weaning pathway
- COPD Team
- Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service
- Breathlessness and Diagnostics Service.
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.
All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.(IF APPLICABLE)
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £3,898 and a maximum payment of £4,967 per annum pro rata).
ORThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,067 and a maximum payment of £1,846 per annum pro rata).
