About The Role:
At Care South, are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join the team at Fern Brook Lodge, our newly refurbished residential care home, which is a hub for the community in Gillingham and the surrounding villages of North Dorset.
This role is part time 2 days per week 16 hours with no weekend working.
Competitive hourly
pay rate on offer
Key duties will include both planned and reactive maintenance covering: plumbing, heating, electrical, decoration, fire testing, care equipment and carpentry.
We are looking for the following skills/experience:
- Basic Electrical Safety Certificate
- Knowledge of Plumbing and Legionella
- Experience using heating, electrical and fire systems
- Can confidently use own initiative and work with minimum supervision
- MEWPS experience desirable but not essential
- Heating and/or Plumbing qualifications ideal but not essential
Ideally you will have experience of working in a care home or similar environment, dealing with a number of maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
