Role title:
Administrator / Attendance Officer


Salary:
£17,482


Pro-rata:

- £5,244 (this is a term-time only role, 2 days per week)


Reports to:
Head Teacher


Purpose of role:
To maintain and run reception area effectively and develop attendance strategy and system.


Key responsibilities:


Ÿ To maintain and run a busy reception area, providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.


Ÿ To liaise with school staff team ensuring accurate register keeping and identifying areas for improvements within the systems of register keeping.


Ÿ To collate information with regard to the attendance of pupils who may be experiencing attendance difficulties in order to inform school, relevant agencies and parents.

Ÿ To enhance the work of the management by contributing to whole school attendance strategies and systems.


Ÿ To work with identified individual and groups of pupils, using regular attendance checks and contact with parents/carers and pupils to improve levels of attendance.

Ÿ To contact all absent pupils on a daily basis and organise transport where possible.

Ÿ To assist with the identification of pupils who will receive support in improving their attendance record.

Ÿ To work with parents/carers in improving their child's attendance record and coordinating parental support and training where appropriate.


Ÿ To work with a regular group of pupils using regular attendance checks and contact with parents to improve levels of attendance.

Ÿ To collate, maintain and update behaviour and attendance data

Ÿ To undertake home and school visits as designated by the school.


Ÿ To work alongside relevant staff, Contact Teachers, Senior Management, Learning Support Assistants, Education Welfare Officer, Connexions to exchange information and determine appropriate levels of intervention.


Ÿ To attend and assist in the preparation of Inclusion Panel meetings, parent's meetings, assemblies in relation to attendance issues.

Ÿ To work with pupils and families identified by the school.


Ÿ To contribute to the maintenance of records and information systems such as registers both, computerised and manual with due regard for data protection and confidentiality.

Ÿ To maintain other records such as Admissions and Discharges, incidents / accidents and policy files.


Ÿ To promote the speedy and effective transfer of information on identified children and young people between schools, the setting and other agencies as appropriate.

Ÿ To comply with all relevant legislation and EdStart policy and procedures.

Ÿ To undertake additional duties as required by the Centre Manager


Ÿ To liaise with the designated teachers for child protection in each school and deal appropriately with child protection issues.


Required skills:

Ÿ Good skills in using Microsoft Office software and office equipment, such as faxes, scanners, and printers

Ÿ Excellent communication skill
