Description
Our client has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and Severe Learning Disabilities resulting from a brain injury. The Client is a friendly and socially skilled individual who is interested in participating in social and sporting activities.The Support Worker role involves:
- Providing the Client with support enabling him to access a range of social, recreational and sporting activities such as aquafit, gym, and accessing the community.
- Providing the Client with some support with independent living such as shopping, cooking and household chores.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability to think on your feet and provide ideas on activity planning on a daily basis.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Sensitivity and discretion necessary to working within a Client's own home
- Ability to absorb information and training provided by the case manager, and to demonstrate accurate implementation of instruction and guidelines.
- Effective team working skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Behaving at all times within the good practice guidelines and standards of consent outlined in 'The Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England'
- To maintain accurate records at all times.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Experience of supporting individual's with Brain Injuries & disabilities.
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to support the client in planning daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with the client so that informed decisions can be made.
- Excellent communication skills with the client, family, staff team and professionals.
- An understanding of the needs of adults with disabilities.
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
Salary:
£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 18.5 per week
