Description

A highly reputable, sustainability-led infrastructure investment management firm are looking for an Assistant Accountant to run an effective accounts payable and expense process, as well as provide other team support to ensure accurate and up-to-date financialreporting.


Key Job Responsibilities:

Management accounting support:

  • Running the accounts payable function to ensure all expenses are paid and accounted for correctly in a timely manner through use of multiple systems:
  • V1 to capture and obtain approval for all invoices
  • SUN to record and settle invoices through the creation of payment files
  • B4B to maintain supplier bank details and setting up payments.
  • Preparation of monthly bank journals and reconciling all bank balances on at least a weekly basis.
  • Oversee expense approvals and ensure correct postings and recharges of expenses through use of Concur.
  • Supporting the finance team through preparation of various accounting schedules.
  • Assisting in preparation of raising and processing of invoices
  • Making bank payments as prescribed by other team members and ensuring they are recorded correctly in our accounting systems
  • Posting journals for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other items as agreed.
  • Maintaining V1 and Concur systems to ensure users are correctly set up and liaising with software providers where required to resolve issues.

Cash management and bank account administration:

  • Cash management
  • ensure all bank accounts are sufficiently funded at all times. Drawing down from liquidity funds as and when necessary.
  • Oversee the opening of new bank accounts, ensuring they are compliant with our policies
  • Adding/removing users, amending access and resolving banking platform issues across the business,

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience of an accounts payable role with a professional or financial services organisation


  • Technical accounting knowledge

  • AAT qualified or working towards AAT
  • Interest in studying for ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (study support provided)
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills / flexible 'can do' approach
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
The salary for the role pays £35,000 - £40,000.
