We are currently looking for an experienced
Materials Coordinator to join our friendly team based from Tarmac's Hub Office's either in Solihull close to Birmingham Airport, or from our Mountsorrel Quarry in Loughborough.

This role will to be work on Europe's largest infrastructure programme, the HS2 project.

This role is commutable either by car or train from Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Hinkley, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Shepshed, Syston, Ashfordby, Nottingham, Derby, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Coalville, Oakham and the surrounding areas.

This role has the potential to be a Hybrid working role upon completion of training

Role Responsibility:


You as a
Materials Coordinator will work cross-functionally within our Logistics and Distribution Team; this will be focused on; and be Accountable for the effective management of cement, GGBS, aggregate and admixture supply within the Readymix/RMX business area for supply across the area delivering to HS2.

Your role as a
Materials Coordinator will include (not exhaustive):

  • Ensure the Readymix production, distribution, technical team, and customers (BBV & EKFB) develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of our supply chain and the processes we must adhere to
  • Review forecast information to ensure plans are in place to manage demand and communicate/coordinate changes to the upstream businesses.
  • Monitor and record supply performance including rail, road, and customer
  • Support Readymix function to ensure raw materials are supplied in order to fulfil customer demands
  • Stock Management across all products
  • Work with the HS2 Readymix plants daily to ensure deliveries are supplied with any shortfalls being managed
  • Point of contact for our supply chain and the Readymix plants
  • Support the distribution team and cover shipping when required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the business you're working for by identifying and taking ownership of opportunities for improvement to the processes you use, the services you will provide and the values you can add to the business
  • Complete data entry and processing; you will maintain data entry protocols and carefully record other information throughout your day
  • Collaborate within the team to clarify facts, exchange information, or resolve queries and/or issues
In the role of
Materials Coordinator you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the business, ranging from - General Managers - Plant Managers/Supervisors - Operations Teams - Technical - Distribution and Supply Teams - Rail - Clients - Customers
