Mothers have a range of presentations including postpartum psychosis, severe post-natal depression and severe post-natal anxiety, we also work with mothers with mild learning disabilities and or neurodevelopmental disorder.

The role will involve working within the ward teams to deliver psychologically informed care for the mothers and babies during their admission, with a focus on specialist assessment and formulation, with some therapeutic work along side this.

The post holder would also be required to offer group DBT interventions on the ward and to offer reflective practice for the team, as well individual supervision to other team members, and to contribute to ward rounds, management meetings and safeguarding meetings.

Experience of working with complex trauma, of working in an acute setting, in undertaking complex risk assessment and in working in a large team would be beneficial in this role.

In addition a genuine interest in working with mothers and babies and in infant mental health is essential for this role.
