Description

We are once again recruiting to our successful, friendly outpatient pharmacy team, and are searching for Pharmacy Procurement Officer who is looking to make a difference to patients and expand their skills and knowledge into hospital specialities.

Subject to successful probation, you will be enrolled on a suitable CIPS qualification course.

The role is for 40-hours a week, Monday to Friday - there is no weekend, late-night and Bank Holiday working.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an outpatient hospital pharmacy that has a focus on patient safety and experience.

You will be working in a busy and supportive environment, providing a patient-centred service, whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The role is perfect for those seeking a new challenge, and particularly suits those with working knowledge of low value and high-volume tactical buying operations, and an ability to develop solid working relationships with doctors, nurses and the wider healthcare team.

  • Lead on developing and maintaining procurement, purchasing and invoicing standard procedures
  • Amend the pharmacy computer systems on a regular basis to reflect any relevant product and contract changes
  • Train and supervise colleagues who are involved in supporting the purchasing, invoicing and receipt of goods
  • Communicate well with all internal and external colleagues
  • Review supplier sources regularly to make sure we get the best value for money
  • Support good stock control in the pharmacies

What you need to have

  • Previous, demonstrable procurement experience
  • Good communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Working knowledge of Public Sector procurement of low value and highvolume tactical buying operations
  • At least Level 2 Functional Skills, though for apprenticeship colleagues we will support you to obtain this as part of your role if it is needed
  • A basic level of IT literacy, including video conferencing
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in your work
  • An ability to organise and prioritise

What we are looking for in our colleagues
The behaviours we expect all staff to demonstrate include:

  • A high standard of professionalism
  • Empathy, and acting in the best interests of patients
  • Taking responsibility for their own actions and omissions
  • Working to the top of their ability and escalating when necessary
  • Maximising the value that diversity brings
  • A Quality Improvement approach, which includes identifying where we can make our standard procedures better and more effective
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • An agile approach to working
  • Open collaboration

In addition, all staff must adhere to company policies, procedures and relevant national guidance or legislation, including maintaining confidentiality, infection control measures, health and safety, and the safeguarding of patients and colleagues.

  • A proven ability to provide excellent customer service
  • A working knowledge of pharmacy practice and the JAC clinical system
  • A positive attitude to change
