Could you support our General Practice Education Group (GPEG) in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care to manage the Groups operations and processes to ensure the successful delivery of the GPEG education programme to students? We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Operations Coordinator to join GPEG to support the Director and Deputy Director of GPEG, on behalf of the Department and undergraduate Deanery Team.

Each year GPEG provides over 17 weeks full time clinical teaching to 1000 medical students.

This is delivered via an intensive programme of in-house clinical teaching (utilising GPs as sessional educators), and by subcontracting with GPEG's network of 180 GP practices that are distributed across the East of England.


You will be responsible for GPEG operations management to support the delivery of an operational plan that encompasses the expected activities occurring throughout the financial/academic cycle, providing an oversight of the delivery of key milestones in critical operational and developmental areas against the plan.

You will provide Support for GP placement, quality assurance, liaisons and approvals.

The role holder will provide strategic input to aid the planning, implementation and management of primary care tariff and its dependent activities, in order to ensure declared financial and business objectives are achieved and that stakeholder imperatives and regulations are met.

We are looking for someone who has excellent project management skills, communication and organisational skills and is a competent user of standard software packages such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.


You will be self-motivated and reliable and will have experience of managing operations within a business unit or discrete activity within a larger unit along with knowledge of business processes and finance systems and experience of explaining financial information to non-financial staff.

Funding is available for 2 years from commencement in post in the first instance.

Location - East Forvie Public Health Building, University Forvie Site, Robinson Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge CB2 0SR (approx 2 miles south of city centre)
