About the Role

Muir of Ord / Contin / Inverness / Highland areas


Salary:
£ £20.45 per hour. 45 hour working week. Salary depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Permanent | Full Time

We are recruiting a Civil Supervisor within the Renewable Hydro Operations team.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of Site Safety and Catchment maintenance activities to our Hydro assets.

You will support the team Renewable Technician through scoping works, producing risk assessments, ordering of plant and materials planning and coordination of the construction phase of works, using experience and broad technical knowledge to ensure site works are completed to our SHE, technical, programme and quality objectives.

Some of your main responsibilities will include;

  • SHE
  • Ensure the highest level of health, safety and environmental compliance on SSE programme works, ensuing all SSE staff and contractors working on site comply with current safe working practices, setting the standard and leading the site to maintain it.
  • Fulfil the roles under CDM ensuring compliance with the regulations.
  • Using technical experience and knowledge to plan, organise, coordinate and monitor works activities on site, reporting progress while ensuring compliance with agreed work scopes.
  • Supervision for the team delivering the catchment maintenance works within the Hydro Catchment.

What do I need?
We would also love you to have;

  • Experience working within the Civil/Construction industry within an operational/construction/project environment with experience in RC concrete works, Form work and Plant operations.
  • Some experience in looking ahead to plan work tasks would be an advantage.
  • The ability to coordinate and supervise a team and to work successfully as part of a wider team.
  • Experience of and either authorised or working towards authorisation under system safety rules.
  • To be interpersonal with strong communication skills.
