We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented Deputy Head of Year to join our team
:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Deputy Head of Year.

You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Year in overseeing the pastoral care and wellbeing of our students.

You will have a strong track record of working in a pastoral role within a secondary school setting and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


You will play a key role in helping to create a positive and supportive environment for our students, ensuring that their academic and personal needs are met.

You will have a passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of our students.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Year in managing student behaviour and promoting our ethos and values
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to provide academic and personal support for students
  • Organising and facilitating student support groups and mentoring programmes
  • Building positive relationships with students, families and external agencies
  • Mentoring student attendance and academic progress
  • Assisting with the academy during school events and activities after hours
  • Working with the Attendance team to ensure daily contact and visits for absent students
  • Working as lead professional on Early Help Assessment cases for your assigned year group
  • Working with the academy's Inclusion Lead to ensure the safeguarding and appropriate curriculum for Alternative Provision students in your year group
  • Working with the academy's Senior Leadership Team to ensure the academy's behaviour system and expectations are upheld

  • Has high professional standards
  • Is able to make positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike
  • Has the ability to motivate pupils to improve and sustain attendance and behaviour and strive for success
  • Is willing to undertake any additional training required for your position and passionate about your own continued professional development
