Role overview


Events at The Access Group are an essential part of the marketing mix and cover everything from major external exhibitions across the country and internal customer conferences to webinars & virtual events and staff incentive trips around the world.

It's a fast-paced environment that is both challenging and demanding but also exciting and rewarding.


Reporting to the Senior Group Events Manager, you will be a vital resource for the divisional marketing teams, providing guidance and advice on event planning with a focus on execution, delivery and evaluation.

You will be comfortable dealing with a range of roles and levels of seniority and display initiative and ingenuity to get things done.

Your key skills will be project and time management with a keen eye for detail to ensure that all events are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to the key KPIs set and agreed with stakeholders.


You will also support with various internal events including digital Kick Off meetings, reward and recognition events for EMEA and other ad-hoc events as needed throughout the year.


On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Support with the execution of the annual events strategy, including all types of physical and virtual events
  • Establish and agree essential parameters, e.g., time plans, budgets and targets set in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Plan, promote and deliver the events programme, ensuring all events are delivered to a consistently high standard on time, on budget and aligned to the Access brand
  • Work crossfunctionally, providing all stakeholders with regular and accurate updates
  • Research, manage and liaise with multiple suppliers and contractors used in the events programme, maintaining excellent relationships and favourable pricing/deals
  • Work closely with Access Creative Studio to determine the look and feel for the events programme
  • Coordinate activities for physical events, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations, preparing backup plans where necessary
  • Work on creating virtual events, managing content on our virtual platforms and supporting internal and external communications
  • Create and manage budgets, including raising purchase orders and reconciling supplier invoices
  • Perform postevent evaluations, document findings and make recommendations and changes to improve the programme as required
  • Stay up to date with the latest event trends and technologies and share these across the teams.

Your skills and experiences are likely to include the following:

  • Experience in a similar events role
  • A passion for events and event technology, plus experience in modern B2B marketing; a knowledge of the technology sector will be useful
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills with laserlike focus on detail
  • Able to work on your own initiative and independently, as well as part of a team
  • A proven ability to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines and successfully deliver projects with maximum effectiveness
  • A handson approach and willing to step in and help solve issues if they arise
  • An understanding of event evaluation techniques and the ability to support or drive datadriven analysis
  • A willingness to travel within the UK with potential international travel and the flexibility to work at events where hours may include early starts, late finish and occasionally weekends.
