New Product Technical Transfer Intern


QuidelOrtho, Pencoed, are looking for an Intern to join our New Product Technical Transfer Team for a period 10-12 weeks over the summer period.

QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years.

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 550 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to a global customer base.

Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories.

In addition to the continued support our growing scientific community provide to our existing products, we are also harnessing our Research & Development capabilities for the creation of novel new content to expand our immunoassay menu.


We are proud to be a global hub for critical manufacturing lines, and we have recently expanded our capabilities with three new state-of-the-art manufacturing lines to produce a comprehensive suite of immunohematology products for blood typing and crossmatching of blood donor units.

On site we have a range of functions operating globally & locally. All our employees are working towards one common goal, to help save and improve lives through diagnostics.


You're new role:


We are offering a summer internship into our New Product Technical Transfer team to join the Global Technical Transfer organisation.

The role will be based at our Pencoed manufacturing site, and you will gain global experience supporting projects required for the transfer of New Products from design lockdown through to launch.


What you'll be doing:


  • Participates and/or leads sub projects required to support New Product launches.
  • Data analysis
  • Track project actions and provide regular project updates to management.
  • Support improvements to transfer process that could include lab based work
  • Support documentation updates.
  • Attend meetings relevant to assigned projects.
  • Attend team meetings.

What you'll need to succeed:


  • Undergraduate in a Scientific discipline
  • Exposure to Project Management, having good organizational skills and the ability to manage to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with strong general computer skills.
