Are you an experienced clinician looking for a new challenge? The Steps to Wellbeing service are looking for a Senior Service Lead to join our outstanding rated trust.


As a Senior Service Lead you will provide strategic and operational leadership and be responsible for leading, managing and implementing the specification for the NHS Talking Therapies (Formerly IAPT) Service in Southampton alongside existing Steps to Wellbeing Senior Service Leads.

You will have the responsibility in ensuring that performance targets are achieved, and robust clinical governance arrangements are in place.

You will be part of a successful and innovative team and will work collaboratively with the other Clinical and Service Leads as well as internal and external stakeholders locally and across Dorset.


The Senior Service Lead is a full-time role, you will work 60% base-working and 40% face-to-face providing Duty Management cover for evenings and Saturdays on a rota basis.

We can offer flexibility of the days worked and the opportunity to work condensed days providing the service needs are met.

To hold responsibility for leading, managing and implementing the Service Specification for the Southampton NHS Talking Therapies Service. To ensure that data and clinical outcome measures are being applied consistently across the service and are regularly audited.

To ensure that national; guidelines are adhered to, performance targets are achieved, and robust clinical governance arrangements are in place.

To collate and deliver relevant monthly reports to the Southampton Integrated Commissioning Unit/Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board.

To ensure that staff are appropriately skilled and trained to deliver the service and to provide supervision where necessary.

To make sure that all standards, waiting times, and productivity requirements are met by the service, through ongoing and regular review throughout the year.


To hold budgetary responsibility for the entire Southampton Service and to ensure that there is an effective use of clinical resources to achieve a budgetary breakeven point and competitive cost per case/ interventions is maintained.
