What you'll be doing:


  • To ensure the optimal functionality, safety, and continued operation of the Wind Tunnel facilities by implementing proactive and efficient facility maintenance practices
  • Supporting the Maintenance and Capability Group Leader on the development/monitoring of maintenance schedules across a facilities within the Wind Tunnel Department
  • Ensuring that the operations team complete timely equipment inspections, preventive maintenance measures, and responsive resolution of issues to create a secure, wellmaintained environment
  • Minimizing downtime, reduce operational costs, and enhance the overall lifespan of facility assets through strategic maintenance planning and execution
  • Reviewing and determining maintenance requirements for new or recommissioned equipment
  • Production of monthly KPI reports on Asset Health for Wind Tunnel Facilities
  • Production of Maintenance Work Instructions
  • Supporting and Monitoring fault logs within a facility

Your skills and experiences:


  • Relevant test/facility experience
  • Engineering apprenticeship / Engineering degree background
  • Experience operating electrical control and mechanical systems in an operational environment

The Team:


Within the Wind Tunnel Department you will be involved on projects associated with one of the many operational test facilities or rigs.

This includes one of the many test rigs as part of our Flight Systems Test Team or supporting operations within our High Speed Wind Tunnel and Low Speed Wind Tunnel.


The Wind Tunnel Department is made up of complex specialised engineering hardware used for testing the various performance properties on test articles, such as aircraft, payload doors and much more.


You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of the equipment, contributing to multiple major aircraft test programmes.
