Seeking a proficient Quality Assurance Supervisor who will lead compliance within the Core Quality Assurance function. This role supports our Cell Culture Media and Primers manufacturing processes and is primarily office-based. As Quality Assurance Finished Good Supervisor, you will be accountable for supervising members of the Core Quality Assurance team. Essential functions include management of daily finished product releases, as well as supporting projects within the Quality department.


In addition, the position holder will identify and recommend operational improvement opportunities and support leadership in achieving of business objectives.


What you will do?

  • Maintain working knowledge of Regulatory and Quality System requirements (ISO13485/FDA CFR)
  • Manage Core Quality Assurance team in order to ensure management of daily tasks, with EHS processes followed, and following internal procedures. Key team activities include but not limited to batch manufacturing record review, customer documentation collation, equipment calibration verification
  • Support to both Gibco and Primers functions
  • Provide training, coaching and development to direct reports and build an engaged and involved team who work effectively together to meet the department goals and KPIs
  • Deputise for Quality Assurance Manager as required including participating in customer audits, attend technical visits and customer calls and represent the Core Quality Assurance team in site projects and initiatives
  • Support site internal audit schedule
  • Participate in hiring and promoting employees; train employees; assign, direct and review their work. Ensure training employees includes cross training for all task coverage
  • Embrace site PPI initiatives and ensure all team members adopt this methodology in day to day tasks
  • Manage team projects and improvements
  • Participate in personal development to further enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position
  • Perform independently without continual direction and exercise considerable latitude in determining solutions to complex problems. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement across the operational function
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

How you will get here

Education

  • Requires a Bachelors/Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, engineering or related discipline, or similar related fields

Experience

  • Extensive quality experience and demonstrated working knowledge of compliance, quality, and scientific principles, preferably including people management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a crossfunctional team environment and to effectively interact with all levels in the company. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external customers are essential
  • Must be a selfstarter who can take general concepts and direction and produce desirable results. Also must function effectively and efficiently in a global, multisite organization
  • Will liaise extensively with all other departments and other sites on matters relating to quality
  • Challenges the status quo; introduces and proactively seeks out new insights and solutions to strengthen our performance
  • Works in an office environment but may be required to spend some time in manufacturing and warehouse areas

Travel requirements

  • Less than 25% domestic/international travel required
