Description

Working with a leading mobile and fixed-line operator, we are looking for a product owner to work with and lead on end-to-end development of telecom products.

The work will involve leading and coordinating the creation of digital network products, both new and taking existing, to final delivery with all the required documentation, processes, and tools/integrations in place.


The role will focus on working with internal products to start with and consolidation/rationalization moving to customer products in a later phase.

It will involve working with various business and technology stakeholders, including third parties, to align to the required outcomes and business benefits.


Thriving where ambiguity exists and being able to translate strategic business outcomes into products/services is an essential part of the role.


Tasks will include:

  • Own and lead the product delivery, including managing and liaising with internal and 3rd party stakeholders, e.g., business leaders/directors, design and integration teams, tools, other product owners, and vendors to advocate and drive delivery
  • Help determine the overall vision of products, manage various backlog items and decide which features each product will have according to customer's preferences/business outcomes
  • Building digital products on top of radio, transport, and customer experience solutions
  • Creating a product road map based on this business objectives and adjusting existing translating business outcomes into products/services
  • Managing the product backlog and prioritizing based on changing requirements
  • Overseeing all stages of product creation and development, including design through to implementation / improve the existing product experience
  • Developing user stories based on business outcomes required understanding current issues/inefficiencies/cross product
  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
  • Participating in SCRUM meetings and driving product sprints
  • Overall report creation/collation on progress to date with a careful eye on sprint progress, issues, and risks, owning resolution through management by exception
  • Highlighting dependencies and assumptions/customer requirements
  • Articulate and demonstrate benefits and cost savings/productivity efficiencies of products/roadmap and plans
  • Interlock internally for any new opportunities of additional work available
  • Support the product/delivery teams from the perspective of management of crucial daytoday issues and interaction with the customer to resolve
  • Forecast and proactively engage on risks that are likely to mature into matters and prevent the product completion/rollout / cause customer challenges
  • Interlock with the design, test, and trial teams to ensure First Office Application and new products introductions/migrations are successful with a handover into delivery/operations
  • 10+ year experience in Network/Telecoms domain with an endtoend understanding
  • Experience working in telecoms product introduction programs
  • Digital / product owner experience
  • Endtoend delivery process management from planning to handover
  • Agile delivery experience, comfortable operating in sprints with changing requirements
  • A strategic thinker who can translate outcomes into products/services
  • Handle ambiguity and drive the detail from a variety of stakeholders
  • SCRUM Master / SCRUM Product Owner
  • Understanding of access transport, Core, RAN, and OSS domains
  • Leadership experience, able to own an area of work
  • Must be flexible and patient and have good time management skills.
  • Experience in working with English
  • Communications Service Provider Experience in product ownership
  • Understanding of the delivery processes and dependencies to deploy and migrate / new products / rationalize and consolidate existing
  • Ability to manage and prioritize across conflicting requirements of multiple products and stakeholders
  • Mentoring product managers and SCRUM teams
  • Stakeholder management at all levels, from executive reporting to driving design and engineers
  • Programme and transformation management experience
  • Process design, mapping, and endtoend due diligence as it relates to products desired
  • Lean Six Sigma desired
