Creating original and innovative luxury soft toys, Jellycat combines luxurious fabrics with quirky and cute designs and sells its products online and via stockists throughout the US, UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
As part of Jellycat's ambitious growth plans we are looking to appoint a qualified Trademark Attorney to manage the global brand protection programme in our London office.
The brand protection role is considered pivotal to the business - ensuring the reputation and image of the company is not tarnished as we continue to grow operations globally.
You'll be;
- Working with the Legal teams in London and China
- Preparing, reviewing and amending documents, initiating and/or following cases, and various monitoring programs for trade name, trade mark, domain name and/or design infringements
- Managing IP database records, requiring prompt and accurate data entry and rigorous deadline management
- Gathering, organising and storing evidence of use materials to support IP portfolio and enforcement activity
- Providing administrative support to the legal team including invoice processing and budget and KPI reporting
- Managing outside counsel and advising the business on the above on a global basis, with input from local counsel as needed
You'll have;
- 5+ Wears PQE private practice and/or inhouse
- Proven experience managing a brand protection program including infringements, counterfeits, opposition and cancellation cases, preaction online research e.g. prior art
- Proven ability working with and directing external advisors responsible for monitoring marketplaces and social media
- Strong IT skills e.g. PowerPoint
- Ability to prepare to complete all related administrative formalities such as legalization/notarisation of documents
- Strong experience in handling a high volume of activity involving multiple, often complex transactions simultaneously
- Ability to work independently, with an acute sense of responsibility and accountability
- Experience with trademark and design registrations and custom recordals
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders including our Leadership Team
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
