Job Summary:


We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Activities Coordinator to join our team at a nursing home in Waterlooville.

As an Activities Coordinator, you will play an integral role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life for our residents through the planning and delivery of engaging activities.

This is a part-time position with 24 hours per week, and the hourly rate is £10.45.


Responsibilities:


Design and implement a diverse range of stimulating activities to meet the social, emotional, and recreational needs of residents in line with their preferences, interests, and capabilities.

Collaborate with the nursing home team to assess residents' individual needs and preferences to tailor activities accordingly.
Promote a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages resident participation and reflects their cultural and personal backgrounds.
Organize and facilitate group activities, such as arts and crafts, games, exercises, board games, musical events, and educational programs.
Develop and maintain a schedule of regular and special events, ensuring a variety of activities occur throughout the week.
Establish strong relationships with residents and their families, actively seeking their input and feedback regarding activities and programs.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and create reports on the impact of activities on their well-being.
Collaborate with community organizations, volunteers, and local businesses to provide a range of external activities and resources for residents.
Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity areas, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the space.


Requirements:

Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a care home or assisted living facility.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with residents, families, and colleagues.
Demonstrated creativity and enthusiasm to develop innovative and enjoyable activities.
Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
Empathy and compassion for elderly residents, ensuring dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.
Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with varying physical and cognitive capabilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Flexible schedule allowing for occasional evening and weekend shifts.
Basic computer skills for maintaining records and reports.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified period).
