About Us
We are the Financial Assessment & Benefits Advice team based in Kings House, Bedworth.

This is a busy team undertaking financial assessments to calculate charges for customers receiving care services following council policies and Government guidance.

In addition, we provide welfare benefits advice and information to customers, helping them to maximise their income and be aware of help available


About the Role
We are looking for a Finance Officer to join us.

You will be part of a busy team calculating care charges based on Government guidance, regulations and Council policies as well as providing advice and information in relation to charges.

The role also involves verifying customer financial information, interpreting, and implementing guidance and policies to correctly calculate charges for care services, provide explanations to customers verbally and in writing as well as dealing with disputes and queries related to financial assessments.


Key Requirements


As you will be working with a variety of stakeholders, it is important you have strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.

You need to be able to work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with customers, families, colleagues, and other representatives.

You will have the ability to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure, whilst always maintaining accuracy, composure, and your professional manner.

You will be used to interpreting sometimes complex information, following regulations, making decisions, and providing consistent and clear explanations to justify decision making.

Experience using computer systems to input and obtain information is essential as well as experience using, and knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheets.

Knowledge of welfare benefits and/or social care services is useful although training can be provided.
