Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Oncology Consultant to join our team.

As an Oncology Consultant, you will provide expert medical care and consultation in the field of oncology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of various types of cancer.

You will work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans, coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, and provide compassionate support throughout their cancer journey.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations of patients with suspected or confirmed cancer diagnoses, including reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests such as imaging studies, biopsies, and laboratory tests.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results and collaborate with pathologists and radiologists to establish an accurate diagnosis and stage of cancer.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their diagnosis, cancer stage, overall health, and personal preferences, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach that may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or other innovative treatment modalities.
  • Monitor patients' progress throughout the course of treatment, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and manage treatment-related side effects to optimize outcomes and quality of life.
  • Provide ongoing education and support to patients and their families regarding their cancer diagnosis, treatment options, potential risks and benefits, and supportive care services available to them.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure continuity of care across all phases of the cancer journey.
  • Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and other multidisciplinary forums to discuss complex cases, share expertise, and develop evidence-based treatment recommendations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology research, emerging treatment modalities, clinical trials, and best practices through continuous education, professional development activities, and participation in academic and research initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology-Oncology required.
  • Active medical license in UK.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and management of various types of cancer, with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing oncologist.
  • Strong clinical acumen, analytical skills, and evidence-based decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathetic skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and their families and effectively communicate complex medical information in a compassionate and understandable manner.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care, fostering a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
