Priority Sports deliver sports coaching and mentoring services to schools across South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset.

Our goal is to inspire young people to live active and healthy lives, make the most of their education and enjoy their time in school, alongside providing outstanding service to the schools we work with.


Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Sports Coach & Mentor to join our team.

The Coach will provide mentoring services to Year 7 students in a local secondary school during mornings, before making a short drive (15 minutes) to a primary school to deliver PE lessons and afterschool clubs each afternoon.


Mentor Responsibilities

  • Help young people fully engage with their education and learning, during their first year of secondary school.
  • Act as positive role model for the young people you work with, supporting them to make positive decisions and achieve their goals.
  • Ensure the happiness and safety of the young people you are working with.
  • Record the progression of the young people you are working, providing feedback to their school.
  • This takes place in a 1:1 setting outside of the classroom (usually 30minute slots), using learning support areas within the school.

Sport Coach Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and fun Lunch Time Clubs, which encourage pupils across the school to be active during their lunch break.
  • Deliver PE lessons to all school years, from Reception
  • Year
  • Deliver a wide range of sport afterschool clubs each day.

Experience & Personal Traits

  • Previous experience in sports coaching is required, preferably in schools.
  • Patience, compassion, and the desire to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Ability to educate and communicate effectively with young people.
  • A good knowledge of different sports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a number of stakeholders in schools (pupils, parents, teachers, colleagues etc)

Pay:
£100.00-£110.00 per day

Experience:


  • Sports coaching: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence and access to own car (required)
