Why this role matters

  • The Mobile Cloud Core Operations team is responsible for the support, operation and maintenance of the new Mobile Core. Working in the Service Platforms area as a Cyber Security Specialist, you will be part of the Mobile Cloud Core Operations Team leading security for operations. You will be responsible for daily security operations, integrating and testing security solutions, investigating security incidents, collaborate with other engineering teams and contributing to the overall security of the Mobile Core.
You'll have the following responsibilities

  • A senior member of the team responsible for activities around incident response, security monitoring, threat hunting, security analytics and reporting.
  • Leads employees, vendors, consultants, and thirdparty service providers to ensure that baseline information security configurations are defined for products deployed across all
- technology platforms.

  • Contributes to crucial relationships across the BT Group delivering efficient and consistent security operations services through continuous improvement opportunities creating defence lines that address growing business needs and a rapidly evolving security and threat landscape.
  • Helps to ensure visibility on issues and gaps resulting from the security monitoring activities and wider capabilities to suggest innovative and faster ways in addressing incident response.
  • Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in security operations.
  • Coaches peers and more junior members of the team, to develop capabilities and ensure performance through upskilling, development and recruitment.
  • Coordinates collaborations with security engineering and vulnerability teams to ensure security tooling is providing operations functions with appropriate visibility to detect and respond to security events as well as building processes to better inform on indicators of compromise.

- and trends.


You'll have the following skills and experience

Skills

  • Ability to analyse requirements, assess demand and capacity and implement plans to deliver objectives.
  • Experience of managing relationships with suppliers and third parties at a senior stakeholder level.
  • Ability to review, translate and respond to risks and vulnerabilities that may impact our telco environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex and technical security matters technical and nontechnical stakeholders at senior levels and across multiple disciplines.

Experience

  • Experience in cyber security and information security in corporate environments
  • Experience in cyber and information security regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., TSA, ISO27001, NIST, GDPR)
  • Experience with risk management and incident response
  • Proven experience in working across a multiple vendor Mobile Network Environment.
