Summary

  • Seeking a motivated theatre assistant to join the team at OneWelbeck Surgery Centre in Central London.
  • OneWelbeck Surgery is part of the OneWelbeck development. OneWelbeck consists of a group of linked but operationally independent day centres located across seven floors at 1 Welbeck Street.
  • Future plans include development of other centres in the UK and internationally.

OneWelbeck Surgery

  • OneWelbeck Surgery was founded by a group of leading Consultants with a goal of developing a stateoftheart day surgery centre in Central London near the Harley Street medical area.
  • The purpose built 7,000 square foot Centre includes 3 laminar flow theatres and 10 ensuite patient pods.
  • The Centre will perform orthopaedic, general, colorectal, breast, gynaecology, ENT, cardiac and pain management procedures.


The post holder will work as part of the theatre team to provide a smooth running of the Theatre departments.

Day to day duties include ensuring patients are transported and positioned safely.

Support the scrub team to ensure all essential supplies and instruments are available to support the safe and efficient running of lists.

Ensuring that stores and equipment per case are available and that waste and specimens are dealt with correctly.

The post holder will also be dual trained to manage the ordering and receipting of all stocks and supplies for the department.


  • Assist with the transfer of patients from the Pods to the Theatre/ Reception, transfer to the Operating Theatre and assist in the positioning for the Operative Procedure if required
  • Ensure trolleys and beds are clean and ready for use; trolleys will be thoroughly cleaned and checked at least weekly for defects
  • Ensure linen and theatre scrub suits stock levels are maintained
  • Assist the theatre team with ordering supplies and the receipt of stores and equipment
  • Liaise with theatre / recovery staff regarding monitoring, transfer and repair of all equipment
  • Monitor and document equipment transferring between departments
  • Liaise with estates regarding running repairs within the department
  • Assist the theatre team to clean theatre areas during and after post operating sessions
  • Assist the theatre team with the receipt of instrument sets to and from Sterile supplies to the designated operating theatres
  • Remove all items of clinical waste in line with Health and Safety recommendations and Trust Policy
  • Ensure plaster equipment is kept to a satisfactory standard
  • Daily ordering and putting away of theatre stores and fluids to the designated areas. Ensure stock rotation is maintained at all times
  • Daily top up of consumables and monitoring stock control from the main storeroom. Ensure all stock is placed into the designated areas
  • Transportation of instrumentation for decontamination and sterilisation
  • Other designated duties as required

Salary:
£20,097.00-£26,000.00 per year
