Overview:


Buckinghamshire Council is recruiting a Project Support Officer in Service Improvement, this is a secondment/fixed-term contract opportunity until 25 June 2024.

This is a great opportunity to join Buckinghamshire Council's Service Improvement team during a period of large-scale change.

The post holder will be part of a team supporting a variety of improvement activities for the Council, which is working to review Council services and redesign them using customer centric service design principles to ensure our services deliver good outcomes for residents.

About the role:

This role is crucial to the effective running of high priority service improvement and transformational activity across Buckinghamshire Council.

As part of the Service Improvement team, this role will be responsible for undertaking necessary project support activities to enable improvement activity to progress effectively.

This will include supporting the development and maintenance of project documentation, admin tasks, diary management, paper and report compilation and circulation, supporting senior team members and general all-round effective project governance activity.

Any-Desk:


As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required.

You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.


About you:


The successful applicant will:

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and an eye for detail.
  • Experienced within improvement and change projects.
  • Have the ability to write reports and maintain project documentation, whilst being comfortable liaising with stakeholders.
  • Be relied upon to pick out key details, decisions and actions and share these with relevant stakeholders.
  • Be able to build trusting relationships with the team and wider stakeholders, identifying interdependencies and eradicating duplication.
  • Establishing good working relationships is essential to the post holder ensuring the effective and timely delivery of all the projects, it also ensures that the project / programme manager is provided with accurate and up to date information as and when required.
  • Interact with internal colleagues including senior management and external partners to build effective relationships.
  • Deal with people at all levels confidently, sensitively and diplomatically.
  • Experienced IT user.
