An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leader in the design and manufacture of customised Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Tomography (CT) turnkey non-destructive test (NDT) solutions and equipment for blue chip organisations,Shawcor Inspection Systems.

Established in Great Yarmouth for over 40 years, we supply products and services to the aeronautical, space, oil & gas, material science, nuclear, global energy and military and defence industries.


We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who has the following skills and experiences:

  • HND in electrical/electronic engineering with extensive relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant electrical design regulations, safety standards and quality processes
  • Capable of developing concepts based on current state of the art technology, calculating electrical requirements by coordinating with the electromechanical, electronic and software teams
  • Identifying cost effective and approved equipment, and producing parts lists
  • Ability to produce detailed drawings in both 2D and 3D CAD for manufacture ideally with Autodesk experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to professionally deal with all levels of colleagues and clients
  • Ability to pass government screening standards
